Shelburne Farms has been making cheddar for more than 40 years. Their pasture based, raw milk, farmstead Vermont cheddar is crafted on a former Vanderbilt family summer estate that has been converted into a world renown sustainability education campus. Made exclusively with the milk from their herd of Brown Swiss cows this creamy and flavorful cheddar hits all the notes of flavor, enjoyability and versatility in age profiles from 6 months to 2 years with smoked and clothbound options also available. All their offerings are Non-GMO verified and Humane Certified. The entire organization is centered around sustainability with a goal of being carbon neutral by 2028. This truly embodies and realizes, in a cheese, what we think of when we imagine Vermont.
